^24 [a]But ^(A)God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the ^[b]agony of death, since it ^(B)was impossible for Him to be held ^[c]in its power. ²⁵ For David says of Him,

²⁹ “^[g]Brothers, I may confidently say to you regarding the ^(F)patriarch David that he both ^(G)died and ^(H)was buried, and ^(I)his tomb is ^[h]with us to this day. ³⁰ So because he was ^(J)a prophet and knew that ^(K)God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one ^[i]of his descendants on his throne, ³¹ he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the ^[j]Christ, that ^(L)He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh ^[k]suffer decay. ³² It is this Jesus whom ^(M)God raised up, ^[l]a fact to which we are all ^(N)witnesses. ³³ Therefore, ^[m]since He has been exalted ^[n](O)at the right hand of God, and ^(P)has received ^(Q)the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has ^(R)poured out this which you both see and hear. ³⁴ For it was not David who ascended into ^[o]heaven, but he himself says:

³⁶ Therefore let all the ^(T)house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both ^(U)Lord and ^[p]Christ—this Jesus ^(V)whom you crucified.”

³⁰ But God ^(A)raised Him from the dead; ³¹ and for many days ^(B)He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very ones who are now ^(C)His witnesses to the people. ³² And we ^(D)preach to you the good news of ^(E)the promise made to the fathers, ³³ that God has fulfilled this promise to those of us who are the descendants by ^(F)raising Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘^(G)You are My Son; today I have fathered You.’ ³⁴ As for the fact that He ^(H)raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘^(I)I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’ ³⁵ Therefore, He also says in another Psalm: ‘^(J)You will not ^[a]allow Your ^[b]Holy One to ^[c]undergo decay.’ ³⁶ For ^(K)David, after he had ^[d]served God’s ^(L)purpose in his own generation, ^(M)fell asleep, and was ^[e]buried among his fathers and ^[f]underwent decay; ³⁷ but He whom God ^(N)raised did not ^[g]undergo decay. ³⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, ^[h]brothers, that ^(O)through ^[i]Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, ³⁹ and ^[j]through Him ^(P)everyone who believes is ^[k]freed ^[l]from all things, from which you could not be ^[m]freed ^[n]through the Law of Moses.

³ For ^(A)I handed down to you ^[a]as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died ^(B)for our sins ^(C)according to the Scriptures, ⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was ^(D)raised on the third day ^(E)according to the Scriptures,
